The mission of the Selma Police Department is to provide excellent public service and law enforcement to the community, with the goal of keeping Selma a safe place to live, work, and play. The Department shall provide this service by utilizing best practices in law enforcement, continuous improvement in leadership and professionalism, and part­nership with the community. 

Members of the Selma Police Department, through leadership and a professional culture, are guided by the highest ethical standards. It is our goal to consistently take actions that increase the safety of the community, while communi­cating our actions in a manner that reduces the fear of crime.
