The Department of Public Buildings is a multi-department, which office the use of the Public Facilities. The facilities are to encourage a balance of use to meet the: cultural, recreational, educational, social and community needs of the citizens of Selma/Dallas County and surrounding communities.
The mission shall be accomplished primarily by providing facilities that are maintained and operationally ready to meet the needs of those who desire to use them; to assist the public in coordination and production of events; to provide service to those with special needs. The Public Buildings staff is committed to ensuring that the facilities and service provide a positive impression of the City of Selma.

All facility rental requires a $250 deposit (refundable) and liability insurance through a reputable insurance agency. The City of Selma must be listed as the certificate holder.

Our local organizations are familiar with the community and what resources are already available locally. They are also motivated to help their local community by making sure that any resources donated to them are put to good use.
